Bibliography: records any known source where the object has appeared in print.

Creator: identified if there is an inscription, label, or other documentation that offers firm evidence as to authorship. Works are attributed to makers if such documentation is lacking but the design and workmanship is comparable to documented examples.

Created: town or region in which the object is believed to have been made.

Culture: nationality of the people who made the object.

Date: approximate date of manufacture of the object; “ca.” (circa) denotes five years on either side of the date indicated. 

Description: catalogue descriptions from the Sack Archive papers.

Sack Record Number: the internal number of the object in the Archive.

Inscription: construction marks, such as letters or numbers, applied by the maker, or inscriptions, labels, or other information applied by subsequent owners.

Marks: inscriptions, labels, or other indicators of authorship.

Material: indicated if available.

Measurements: indicated if available; height precedes width precedes depth, unless otherwise noted. 

Style: guided by the standard of the Getty Art and Architecture Thesaurus.

Title: the name of the form used in the Sack Archive papers.

Work Type: guided by the standards of the Getty Art and Architecture Thesaurus.
